When Seattle has overcast cloudy skies, we always start thinking about dreary Victorian England and their wonderfully inspired jewelry full of symbolism. One of the most prolific symbols is that of the serpent, which represented eternal love as the snake is an endless loop encircling one’s finger. Queen Victoria had many serpent pieces, including a snake eating its own tail, which is an other endless circlet of love. From cuffs and bangles to gold rings, the serpent could be found almost everywhere in Victorian jewelry. Our example here features 18 karat yellow gold, two rose cut diamond eyes, and is from London circa 1895. Slither on in to try this jewel on today!

Finally, a day that feels like summer! To celebrate, we are featuring one of our favorite new pieces: a hexagonal shaped fancy yellow diamond of 1.36 carats. The diamond is surrounded by accent diamonds and two toned 18 karat gold. The wonderful shape of this diamond reminds us of busy buzzing bees and their hexagonally shaped honeycomb, a perfect emblem of summer and productivity! Do yourself a favor and buzz down to our store and take a closer look at this beauty.

Sapphire has legendary powers to protect against poison and evil spirits. One tale tells of a poisonous spider placed in a box along with a sapphire, and the spider will die almost immediately. This ring has a 1.50 carat center diamond of L color and VS2 clarity that is flanked by two smaller yellow sapphires. Once known as Oriental Topaz, these yellow sapphires brighten up this platinum diamond ring, and will hopefully protect you from being out of style this summer!
Miley Cyrus is engaged to her long time boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth! The two met on the set of The Last Song in 2009, and have been together ever since. Miley’s ring is a Neil Lane design with an antique cushion cut diamond weighing 3.5 carats set in an art nouveau style 18 karat yellow gold band. Here at Alexandria Rossoff, we make working with antique diamonds our specialty. This GIA certified stone is a cushion cut 1.21 carat diamond in a platinum mounting. It’s Miley’s sister ring!
